We use pickups from various well-known manufacturers for our instruments. This ensures that we can serve a wide range. Here we present the pickups we use. There are numerous sound samples from these great manufacturers on the respective websites or on YouTube.
Andreas Kloppmann is the undisputed king in Germany, and probably Europe, when it comes to recreating vintage sounds with his meticulously hand crafted pickups in Northern Germany. Note that we said “vintage soundS” as in more than one. Every e.g. Telecaster fanatic will tell you that a 50s model sound very different from a 60s model. So, Kloppmann offers various versions that aim to recreate the sound of a particular era - quite successfully if we might add. If you want to combine modern aluminium construction with authentic vintage-style pickups, Kloppmann is the way to go. Broadly speaking, with single coils, go with 50s models if you prefer fatter tones and go with the 60s models if you like twangier, leaner sounds. With humbuckers the story is a bit more complicated but Kloppmann’s website offers detailed descriptions and excellent sound files. If you’re uncertain, tell us what you’re going for and we’ll give you more specific advice.
Harry Häussel is a household name among German pickup makers. He supplies giants of the guitar building scene like Nik Huber, Juha Ruokangas and Rainer Tausch. Think of him as the German Jason Lollar or Lindy Fralin. His offerings are not limited to vintage replica pickups but also include modern interpretations & models such as his blade single-coil sized humbuckers or the infamous Tozz, a high output humbucker that retains dynamics. Pickups are available in a variety of covers and colors, so feel free to get creative and match them to your Fehse. His website provides descriptions of all his models. Overwhelmed? Let us know what you want from your pickups and we’ll tell you which model suits your needs.

Lace pickups and Fehse guitars are a match made in heaven. Lace’s innovative approach to pickups and their use unconventional methods and materials is similar to our philosophy. And all technical things aside, what could be better for our guitars than a pickup called ALUMItone?:) Not only do they sound interesting, hi-fi and distinctly modern, they also shave off a significant amount of weight from your guitar. If you like to walk off the beaten path or simply want something different for your Fehse, Lace is the way to go.
